Commissioning Specialists Process/Mechanical; Electrical, Instrumentation and Control; Civil/HVAC
The successful candidates will become members of a multi-disciplinary group providing integrated project management, engineering/design, construction and commissioning services. Under the direction of Commissioning Manager, they will participate in the implementation of design changes approved through Engineering Change Control and Field Change Control processes. The successful candidates will contribute through the development and implementation of commissioning work packages.
Specific duties include:
Commissioning of design changes arising from change control processes.
Preparing commissioning documentation included Commissioning Specifications and
Objectives, Commissioning Plans, Commissioning Procedures, Interim Review of
Commissioning Results, and Commissioning Reports.
Preparing comprehensive work packages including work plans, work requests, work orders, and other documentation as required supporting commissioning activities.
Initiating Field Change Control requests and interfacing with Resident and Design
Engineering as required supporting changes in scope, design, or methods during commissioning.
Preparation of reports, history files, and/or history dockets as required documenting commissioning activities.
Handover/turnover of modifications to operations including the preparation of turnover packages.
Assisting in the closeout of Change Control processes.
Assisting in the assessment Engineering Change Control and Field Change Control requests.
Participating in system-specific Modification Teams as either Modification Team Leader or the Commissioning representative.
Assisting in the planning of Commissioning activities and Modification Team activities including defining work scope, estimates, and schedules.
Carrying out assessments of commissioning work as required.
Interfacing with the Management, Engineering, Field Installation, and Operations team members as needed to resolve problems/issues as they arise.
Prepare responses to issues raised by the Regulator when required.
Qualifications:
5 -10 years of experience in system and plant commissioning preferably in the nuclear, process or power industries.
Working knowledge of codes, standards, and practices used in the commissioning of nuclear facilities is required.
Working knowledge of codes and standards used in the engineering and construction of nuclear plants and the installation of system modifications in nuclear plants is an asset.
Working knowledge of formal engineering change control processes is required.
Understanding of design drawings and drawing/as-built processes is required.
Technical knowledge of nuclear power or research reactor design and performance is an asset.
Proficiency in both written and oral communication is required.
High level of energy and be able to function independently in the technical area(s).
Proven initiative and motivation, and good people skills to work with peers as well as both internal and external customers in a team environment.
Experience in dealing with commissioning contractors, operating staff and trades is required.
The candidate must demonstrate effective team membership skills, self-motivation and leadership.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team player with other groups on site and with Sheridan Park design engineering is essential.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing requirements, and to manage/work under pressure.
Good problem solving skills.
